Presentation: This presentation is on environmental issues often encountered during the land planning, design, construction and facility management processes. The speakers will include common sources and types of subsurface contamination and ways that construction workers and site occupants may be potentially exposed to these contaminants, as well as issues facing facility managers such as spill prevention, asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, indoor air quality (IAQ), and waste disposal/recycling. Jeff and Rob will also discuss current topics such as the potential for contaminants to migrate into a building via soil vapor intrusion, as well as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) impacts on IAQ. The goal will be to provide a basic understanding of these environmental issues to help you and your staff effectively addresses them during the planning, design or management phases. At the end of the presentation, we will include a question and answer session to address various comments or concerns of attendees.
